I was recently talking to some friends about what movies we thought were the funniest. This made me want to do some research to find out what movies really make people laugh. (Yes, my definition of research is posing a question on my blog)
Feel free to contribute by naming two or three of your favorite comedies in the comments section. Below I have listed some movies that have really made me laugh over the years.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Young Frankenstein
The Other Guys
Dr. Strangelove
This is Spinal Tap
Mystery Men
Take the Money and Run
Dumb and Dumber
Ground Hog Day
What movies do you think are the funniest? I'd really like to know.

My favorite is "So I Married an Axe Murderer."
"How can you hate the colonel?"
" Because he puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes ya crave it fortnightly.."
Amazon Women on the Moon, without hesitation (even though it is ancient).
Best in Show
You've got three favorite comedies of mine on your list, so I'll pimp for "Used Cars".
"Get their friendship, get their confidence, get their trust, then get their money."
Some Like it Hot is one of my all time favorites. What's Up Doc is another classic.
Talladega nights made me laugh hysterically, though, I'd never admit it.
Oh, and Date Night...
Arthur is one of my all time faves. I loved Dudley Moore in it. And it was a bit of a romance so win-win for me!
Oh yeah, What's Up Doc is good. I love oldies.
Overboard and What About Bob
I love a good comedy and Dumb and Dumber is simply genius!
Airplane and Some Like It Hot- classic!
Napoleon Dynamite and the Royal Tennebaums. Both movies I had to pause to laugh so I didnt miss anything :D
Groundhog Day is definitely on my list as is other Bill Murray comedies What About Bob and The Man Who Knew Too Little.
My all time favorite comedy is Waiting for Guffman. But I also love The Other Guys and Bowfinger.
Bowfinger was the funniest Eddie Murphy has ever been. Those are all great movies everyone. Thanks.
I know it was not a rip roaring knee slapper but I appreciated the near constant slow burn comedy of Napoleon Dynamite. W.C.C.
'Midnight Run'
'Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid'
'Drop Dead Gorgeous'
'Johnny Dangerously'
'Major Pain'
What about Bob
Dumb and Dumber
Tommy Boy
So I married an Axe Murderer
Better off Dead
The Princess Bride
At least these are the ones we quote around our house most often!
"Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"
"What's Up Doc?
"Emperor's New Groove"
